Leage City woman says she woke up to a naked man in her bedroom
A League City man is accused of breaking into his neighbor's apartment with the intent of sexually assaulting her, police say.

LEAGUE CITY, Texas (KTRK) -- A woman in League City woke up to a naked man in her bedroom, and now police are looking into whether he targeted more people.

Police say just after midnight on April 15, Juan Miguel Hernandez, 49, broke into the woman's second-story apartment at the CP Waterfront complex on Constellation. She told ABC13 she was able to identify him because he was her downstairs neighbor.

"I was like, 'What are you doing in my apartment?'" the victim said. "And as soon as I said that, he stood up and he was completely naked." Eyewitness News is not identifying her due to the sexual nature of the allegations.

She said she felt something touch her leg at first. When she confronted him, she said he got on top of her in bed. She fought him off and was able to reach for her phone.

"As soon as I got on the phone, he hurried up and pulled his boxers up and ran out of my apartment."

Hernandez was arrested during a traffic stop on April 25 and taken into custody without incident. He is charged with burglary with intent to commit a sexual offense.

"It's definitely terrifying," the victim said.

According to court records, security video shows him scaling the back patio to enter her apartment. She remembered his bad breath, she told police. She woke up to him around 12:20 a.m. The video shows him entering just before 11 p.m.

"He was there that whole time, and I had no clue. It makes me question, 'Had he been in my apartment before?'"

Now, police are asking anyone else who may have information to come forward.

"We aren't ruling out the possibility that there are other victims," said Officer Jose Ortega, with the League City Police Department. "We would like to urge and encourage anyone who might have been in a similar situation, who might recognize his mug shot, to contact Detective Dimasi at the League City Police Department."

Anyone with information or who believes they may have been a victim is urged to contact Detective Demasi at 281-338-4173.

Hernandez is being held in the Galveston County jail and is currently subject to a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) hold.
